Our Story

The Foundation was created by Carl Berry, a Jamaican born humanitarian who has spent years supporting community development projects across the Caribbean. Carl witnessed first-hand how something as simple as a lack of menstrual products could hold girls back from education and opportunity. Moved by their stories, he decided to act —shifting his broad community projects to creating a foundation that would not only provide menstrual care but also change how society talks about it. The Foundation began with small acts of kindness within communities providing individual assistance for personal items, food and advice. This grew to more structured local outreach events including sponsored football matches and grew into a national initiative connecting donors from around the world with communities in need. Carl had an encounter which led to him streamlining the many projects focusing on helping young women and girl’s menstrual health and more so helping fellow Jamaican men to break the taboo of stigmatising the menstrual health discussion. Today, the Carl Berry Foundation continues to expand its reach — supporting menstrual health, disaster relief, and education through compassion, collaboration, and transparency.
